About the Certificate in Business English Course

Aims and Objectives

The course is intended for students either preparing for a career in business or those already in employment who want to enhance their English communication skills. The course contains contemporary ideas from the world of business and employs a task-based teaching methodology. Students are expected to use their own experience and opinions in order to maximise involvement and learning. The course meets a wide range of needs which students have including different areas of interest and specialisation, different skills requirements and constraints on the amount of time available for self-study.

Target students/admission requirements

This course is designed for part time students who wish to advance their knowledge of the English language for professional purposes. They are required to take a placement test prior to admission to the Business English course to determine their level of English across the four skills.

Kathleen Metzger,
is a native of the United States and holds university degrees in the fields of economics, international management and law, as well as a TESOL certificate from the London Teacher Training College. Having worked for several years in international business, Kathleen enjoys helping students develop their English communications skills for use in the business world.
